For making smoke, the easiest base formula for white smoke is sugar and potassium nitrate.
TG:
I've been playing with ratios of 3/2 - 5/3 of KNO3/powdered sugar, but I just shake them to mix and don't melt them together. My stove is gas, and I don't want to risk setting-off the mixture in the kitchen.
Cal50:
This is a nice mix~
6 parts KNO3
4 parts sugar
3 parts baking soda
3 parts ground fine paraffin wax
The KNO3 and sugar mix I was using a hot plate for melting but the el cheap o thermostat ran away........
Just before ignition I saw really cool little sparks in the mix then ignition.
I tossed the coffee can of the slurry out of the garage and it made a mess on the driveway that lasted a couple years to go away.
