Re: Any treasure hunters here?
UPDATE: The first junk pile I excavated yielded a surprising discovery. After cleaning an old glass mustard jar, we found a date on the bottom: FEB 23 15. That's 1915!

Re: Any treasure hunters here?
I just looked at dates, not factories. Bottles ranged from 1960's to 1940's. Again.... None of it is worth anything. It's just junk. To me, however it's cool to find a couple 1950's era whiskey bottles in the middle of the woods.

Re: Bird ate out of my hand today!
Be careful you don't become a Disney princess, OP :D My Wife would never allow me to become a princess. Every household can only support one princess, and she's it. Second in line is our 70 pound Airedale terrier, Molly. Both of these females exhibit all the princess traits and are not to be crosse...

Re: Any treasure hunters here?
I finally dug up an old trash pile on my property. I originally thought it dated back to the 1890's. Instead; looks like only the 1940's. The clincher was a license plate that appeared to read "1938". Stuff uncovered: brass mechanical mechanism of a clock, heavy metal brackets, big steel h...

Bird ate out of my hand today!
First time ever!
I've been feeding birds all Winter. The last bucket of feed went out today. Before I poured it out, I noticed a lone chickadee watching me from only 3' away. I put a few seeds in my hand extended it out and the bird landed on my hand, grabbed a seed and flew off.

Re: What do you feed your cats?
Whenever I barbecue, the cats get a little something off the grill. Although I would never start this with dogs, for outdoor cats, it works great. They stay near the house and don't wander off too far into the woods to become coyote food.

Re: What do you feed your cats?
Interesting article. I'm discussing it (she's talking. I'm listening) with my vet tech wife. She's defending her cat food choice citing the Nutricianist at Michigan State University. Sounds like she's starting to question her own argument. She's looking at the ingredients now. Just got distracted by...
